A manuscript is what sells your work to a publisher or an editor. It is therefore important that a writer learns how to write a novel manuscript in the right way. This determines greatly whether or not you get you get published as writer. If your manuscript is poorly written the editor will not make an effort to read what is within.

When an author learns how to write a novel manuscript, they are at an advantage. This is because they will be able to present clean, professional and quality work to the publishers who will in turn be interested to read what they have to offer.

A writer should make sure that the manuscript can be read, that it has no errors whatsoever and ideally it should be printed in laser print. If this is beyond your reach an inkjet printer, a dot matrix printer with fan fold paper or an electric type writer can be used.

Choose a font that is both legible and readable to write your work in. Serif font is more appropriate. A twelve point or fourteen point Times can also be used.

When learning how to write a novel manuscript the paper that you use matters. The paper used should be the standard size. This is 8.5*11, 20lb and it should be white bond. Leave margins all around the paper leaving 1 inch on both the top and bottom and 11/2 inches on either side.

Put it as it in a typing box. Make two copies either by photocopying or saving on separate disks. This ensures that you have back up copy, incase of any need that could arise.
